THE DIFFERENCE YOU’LL MAKE

“I think the BRIGHT Walk is a great event. Raising awareness of the phenomenal work being done at SAHMRI, as well as funds to support it into the future, is crucial for our state.”

– Eugene Warrior, Senior Engagement and Knowledge Broker within the Aboriginal Health Equity Theme

The money you raise by taking part in the BRIGHT Walk will push researchers at SAHMRI – like Eugene – another step closer to the next life-changing discovery and a brighter future. Your support will help us develop pilot projects and leverage funding from national bodies. It will also give a real boost to our fantastic researchers starting their careers with SAHMRI, empowering them to seek new insights and new discoveries.

WHY DO IT?

Get active – walking is one of the easiest ways to exercise and improve your mental and physical health.

Get outdoors – training for your BRIGHT Walk is a great way to motivate yourself to get out in the fresh air, whatever the weather.

Do something positive – the money you raise will be used to fund lifesaving medical research at SAHMRI.

“Camilla is super energetic and charismatic, meeting all the milestones. She was a bit slower to develop at first, but now she’s absolutely thriving.”

Beth Clennell (Clinical Trial Operations Manager at SAHMRI) couldn’t believe what was happening when she was rushed to hospital to give birth, seven weeks early. Thankfully her baby, a daughter Camilla, was delivered safely and made it through those first, difficult days thanks to the expert medical care she received.

Beth’s lived experience has only added to her passion for her work. She’s delighted to see the BRIGHT Walk uniting the community with the common goal of raising money and awareness for a brighter future.

“Without research and without funding to support it, health and medical care can’t progress. If we as a community can dig into our own pockets for a cause as crucial as this, the impact really is invaluable.”
